dear summer blockbusters

please stop using the untimely death of parental figures as a prominent plot point/character motivator of characters in your films. this goes especially true if the parental figure is a father and the character is a blond female. i am 3 for 3 at this point, but only one has reduced me to actual, painful (to say nothing of slightly embarrassing) tears.
