it could be worse
you may not know this, gentle reader, but this blog gets hit with hella spam. at least 2 or 3 (sometimes upwards of 10 or 20) times a day, a spambot comes along and tries to post on the site. most of them get caught by a filter and i have to go in and say, “sorry. no. the post that is a list of links that all have the word p*ssy, an*l, or hot-young-asian in them is not a valid post. thank you spam filter.”
and i do. because i don’t really care all that much.
occasionally one will leak by (and you may notice if you get the comments rss), and i’ll have to go in and manually remove it.

well, the last couple of days, instead of spamming the old posts about WoW or movies or books or whatever, they’ve started targetting the ones about my dad. even though i know it’s random and not human driven, it’s been pissing me off. cuz rude.
earlier tonight, one got through the barrier and ended up on the haiku. so i upgraded my discussion settings and now your comment’s going to sit in moderation if it’s the first one you’ve sent. i figure that’s a moment or two of frustration for the regular visitors, and will keep the spamming bastards off my haiku for a while.
