that’s right. i knocked out 1164 words on the plane today. who wants to touch me! i also discovered that when you flesh out the background of 2 or 3 of your primary supporting characters, you find your plot. which is pretty darn cool. oh! and while fleshing out one of those backgrounds, i found my prologue. would you like to read a bit?
More and more of the fire heeded her silent call, circling the child until she was cut off from the rest of her people. The mass of fire formed into a dense column that stretched into the sky above the crowd. The girl could barely be seen in the middle, but she remained perfectly still, eyes shut, clutching the jewel, paying no heed to the vortex swirling her hair and her nightdress around her.
