feels like a field trip
for reasons not thoroughly articulated until i was walking out the door, day 1 of the new job felt like a field trip. i can’t really even elaborate on what that feels like, just that’s how i felt all day. the reasons, identified at the end of the “trip” are that 1) i am out of my element and learning new things (as hans pointed out) and 2) i am not “at work” and yet i am (much like a field trip where you are officially “at school” only having fun and learning new things and not really at school doing school-things).
the coolest thing about it is that i get to go back tomorrow instead of going back to school.
